I bought an item from you last week and now you have it on sale
for $50 less. What should I do? Just go to any Circuit City Store with your receipt
and we'll credit you with the $50 difference PLUS 10% or a total of $55. If you paid cash,
you'll get cash back.
Do you beat the prices in membership warehouses and military PX's
or catalogs? We do honor lower prices from warehouse clubs (Sam's, Price/Costco,
BJ's etc.) since they are legitimate retailers. We do not honor mail order prices but when
shipping charges are added in, we think you'll find our prices most competitive. PX's are
subsidized and not open to the general public so we do not match prices with them. We find
many military personnel shop with us anyway because our prices are often better than at
the PX and the selection is much greater.
Another dealer in town has a lower price on an item you carry,
but is out of stock at the moment. Why won't you honor their price? In order for us
to beat a lower price, the item must be immediately available from the competitor. If not,
we must assume that the offer is not legitimate. Though rare, some retailers promote low
prices on out-of-stock items to practice bait-and-switch tactics or to harm the
competition. Don't worry. If you purchase from us and within thirty days the competitor
receives the item and still sells it for less, we'll beat the price!
Do I need an ad to prove someone else has a lower price?
Absolutely not! An ad or other "proof" is helpful, but not required. If you
don't have some proof, we will attempt to verify the price by other means (phone, shopping
visit). We shop all of our major competition regularly and do our best to give you great
everyday prices... but occasionally we'll miss an item and we appreciate your bringing it
to our attention. We want to see that you get the best price in town because great service
and great prices form the basis of a lasting relationship with our customers.
Return / Refund Guarantee
Circuit City will gladly give you a full refund within 30 days of your purchase if you
are not satisfied for any reason. Just return the merchandise in new condition with your
sales receipt, carton and accessories. This guarantee does not apply to computers* or to
opened compact discs, cassettes or software**.
Note: For items originally purchased by check and less than 14 days old, we will mail
you a check refund. All other refunds will be made in cash or via credit card depending on
the original purchase mode.
*Computers are returnable for a full refund within 14 days of your purchase. Laptop
computers are subject to a 15% restocking fee if not defective.
**Opened and defective music and computer software may be exchanged for the same title
within 30 days.

Why do you have a restocking fee on laptops? High return
rates on non-defective laptop computers which we then had to mark down and sell as used,
(often at a significant loss), caused us to re-evaluate our return guarantee and make it
comparable to many other computer retailers who have experienced similar problems. The
only way we can keep our prices low for everyone is to insure that the products we sell
are not "rented" for a week or two and then returned.
I want to return an item I bought 2 weeks ago that's defective
but I'm missing the box and some of the accessories. What should I do? If you
simply want to exchange the item for another of the same items, that's no problem. We'll
give you the new item and keep the box and acessories to go with the item you are
returning. If you'd like a refund or a different item, then we'll need to charge you for
the missing items. A list of accessory charges is posted in each store customer service
area.
I bought an item in November as a Christmas gift for my son, but
now 30 days have passed and he got a duplicate gift. Can you help? Sure! We extend
our return guarantee for November and December purchases during the holiday season until
the first week of January to allow for just this problem. Just go to the customer service
desk and explain what happened & we'll be happy to exchange it or give you a refund.
(Note: Purchase verification is requested & refunds will be given in the same pay-type
as the original purchase. Without purchase verification, stores will provide exchanges or
in-store credit on sealed box items we carry.)
I bought an item less than 30 days ago and want to return it but
I've lost my receipt. Is that going to be a problem? If you simply want to exchange
it for another of the same item there's no problem. If you want to get a refund, and your
original ticket can be accessed from our customer service information system computer,
we'll refund your purchase price ot apply it to the purchase of a different item as you
choose. If your purchase is not in our computer system but the box is still factory sealed
and it is an item we carry, we'll give you in-store credit. If the box is open and we
cannot verify that the item was purchased at Circuit City, then we suggest you ask for the
manager on duty for resolution of the problem.
No Lemon Guarantee:
Our "No Lemon" Guarantee states that if we service your product twice during
the first year of ownership and it fails a third time during that year, then we will
replace the item with an identical or comparable new item.
Note: For purposes of this guarantee, computer software problems or defective mice or
keyboards are NOT considered product service events. Our No Lemon Guarantee applies only
to legitimate product defects, not to service calls related to operation or hook-up
problems where no product defect was found.

This is the third time I'm bringing in my TV during my first year
of ownership but each time it's a different part that's broken. What can I do? You
can get a new one! Our No lemon Guarantee applies to any and all legitimate repairs made
on your set as long as failures occurred during normal use. So, since this is your third
time in, we want to get you a new set.
I don't have my service records but I know this is the third time
in for repairs. Can you help? You're in luck, we can look up all your service
records in our computer system and determine if you qualify. If any of your repairs were
performed by an authorized service center other than Circuit City, you will need to
provide those records to us in order to replace an item under our No Lemon Guarantee.
I had service done by outside companies on my VCR, but now it has
failed a third time in the first year. What should I do? Just make copies of the
first two repair receipts and bring in your defective unit. As long as the repairs were
made by a factory authorized repair shop during the first year of ownership and due to
failure under normal operation, we'll honor our guarantee.
I have your Extended Service Protection and this is the third
repair on my stereo receiver in 2 years. Do I qualify for a "No Lemon" exchange?
The terms of our ESP vary from state to state. Under our standard ESP, our No Lemon
Guarantee extends only to the first year of ownership. You will however be able to get
your receiver back to factory specifications without charge since you are covered by our
service plan. Under our ESP Plus plan, available in some states, our No Lemon Guarantee is
extended for the duration of the ESP Plus coverage. If you are not sure which plan you
purchased, please call your local store and they
will will be happy to tell you which plan you have.
One Year Home Speaker Trade In Guarantee
If you buy a pair of home speakers from Circuit City, you have the option of upgrading
to a more expensive pair within one year paying only the difference in price. This allows
you to get the speakers you need now, while saving for the ones you WANT later! We only
ask that you keep your original speakers in like new condition to qualify for the
exchange. This speaker trade-in guarantee is a one-time privilege and may not be repeated
year after year. Also, the guarantee does not apply to car speakers.

I don't have my receipt but I think I'm still covered by the
warranty. Can you help? If you provided Circuit City with your address and
telephone number at the time of purchase,, we can look you up in our computer system to
determine if you are covered. Just bring in your item to your local store and we'll try to
help.
Last year I purchased a 3 year Extended Service Policy but have
lost my paperwork. Am I still covered? Yes... we can look you up in our computer
system if you provided your address and phone number at the time of purchase to see when
your coverage starts and ends.
I purchased a computer system with a Computer Support Plus
in-home service plan. How do I get it fixed? Well, that depends... CSP begins after
the first year of ownership, (except for power surge coverage which begins immediately).
If you have a repair need during the first year, you should be covered by the
manufacturer's warranty. Manufacturer's support numbers should be listed on your sales
receipt or you may call our Answer City staff (800) 950-9000 for directions on how to
obtain service. After the first year, you are covered by CSP and you can call
(800)-371-5000 to set up a repair appointment.
I purchased a product at another store and now it is broken. Can
you fix it? If we carry the particular brand, we'll be happy to help you. Just
bring it in to your local Circuit City store.
My product has been in for service for over two weeks. Who can I
call to find out what is happening with it. While the vast majority of repairs only
take a week or so, sometimes we encounter delays due to manufacturer parts availability.
You can check on the status of your repair by calling your regional
service center or the service number found on your claim ticket.

I had my CD player installed by you and it's recently begun to
skip a lot. What will you do? First, we'll check to ensure that there is nothing
that is wrong with the installation, then we'll remove the CD player at no charge if it is
broken. You can then get the product fixed through Circuit City Service. (If you are
covered by the manufacturer's warranty or our own Extended Service Protection - this will
be free, otherwise you'll need to pay for the repair.) When the repair is complete, we'll
re-install it in your dashboard at no charge.
You guys put in a killer system for me last year but now I'm
selling my car & getting a new one. Can I take my tunes with me? You sure can!
We'll remove the system we installed and put back your old system if you saved it. We'll
