 The box also contains a
built in amplifier to produce the loudness desired without having to draw on your existing
amplifier and strain it. Most powered subwoofers today can get their signals through a
subwoofer output or other output jack on your amp or receiver and many can even be hooked
up to conventional speaker wires. Since the human ear cannot tell where deep bass comes
from, the powered sub can be placed anywhere within your room, even behind the couch.
