Shipping Charges
Freemerchant offers merchants three choices for calculating shipping costs.
Explanation of Shipping Options
Learn what type of shipping options best fits your into your business Operations:

Merchant-Defined
- Will allow you to enter the shipping cost manually before confirmation.

By Gross Cost - Shipping charges will be calculated by summing the gross shipping costs of each product ordered. (Individual product shipping costs are designated by you during catalog creation). The Total wil be automatically placed on the invoice before you confirm the order. You may also define additives and multipliers to be applied to the gross for each shipping method you offer.

Carrier-Calculated - Shipping charges will be automatically calculated based on weight. (In order for this option to be meaningful, you must also enter a weight on the product details page for each item.) Additionally, you must designate a carrier for each shipping method (ground, priority, three day, two day, or next day). For example, if you select "Carrier-Calculated" and designate FedEx as your carrier for Two Day Shipments, then the shipping cost will be automatically calculated by FedEx's system whenever a customer orders a Two Day shipment.

Note: This functionality is currently offered only for domestic shipments originating in the United States. If you select this option, shipping costs for international orders will be Merchant-Defined (see above).

The information in this next section gives you the added ability beyond what the traditional carrier offers.
Activate Gift Option? If a customer selects the gift option then they want you to send the package without the price on the packing slip. Do you want them to be able to have this option?

Shipping Password: If you want to have a separate password for someone to check the orders you have recieved without access to anything else, specifically your main menu, check the box below and enter a password that someone would use to only check orders.
