	Import product data from a spreadsheet file directly into your freemerchant catalog.



	Catalog Importer Overview
	If you have a lot of products, this is a much faster and easier way to get them all into your freemerchant site. You can use this feature to add new products, or update existing products with changes you have made to your spreadhseet. Database importation is a simple six-step process:

	Step 1: Download your Category Legend
	The legend contains a list of your categories and their corresponding Category ID Numbers. These ID Numbers are how you identify which category a product is to be placed in. You must add a field to your database or spreadsheet for category ID Number. Using the Category Legend, fill in your database so that each product has a corresponding Category ID number identifying which category it is to be placed in.

	Download your Category Legend by holding shift and clicking here.

Step 2: Choose File Format

	Microsoft Excel 5.0 Later versions (Excel97 or higher) must be saved as Excel 5.0 format
	Microsoft Excel 2.0,3.0,4.0
	DBASE or FOXPRO data table
	Paradox 3.5,4.0
	Lotus 1-2-3 rev. 2.x (.wk1)
	Lotus 1-2-3 rev 3.x (.wk3)
	Lotus 1-2-3 rev. 1-A (.wks)

File Format Selector: Choose the file format you'll be uploading.



	Step 3: Upload The Files
	Click "Browse..." to select the database file for upload then click "Upload Database" located at the bottom of this page.


	Database File: For all other databases that do not have a memo file.


	Memo File (if exists): If you are uploading a DBASE or FOXPRO database that has memo fields, select the memo file for upload. (.fpt for foxpro, .dbt for dbase) .
